Since vaccines exist, humankind has extended its longevity. To avoid deadly diseases from re-emerging into society, health practitioners are taking action towards well-informed parents and safe, protected children.
The Precede-Proceed Model
With these two divisions, vaccine promotion programs first define, prioritize, identify and recognize how behaviours are shaped and which factors can contribute to greater awareness about the importance of vaccinations. Then, the proceed phase is where this intervention is design and carried out as planned, to finally evaluate the outcomes and measure how far or how close the impact was from the ultimate goal.
Stages of Assessment
To assess relevant issues in a community is necessary when applying the Precede-Proceed Model. The idea will be to develop health goals that can be reached through these programs, noticing all factors around the specific behaviour, such as education and predisposition. On the other hand, administrative resources must be considered to avoid any barriers when implementing a successful promotional program. Practitioners will then gather all evidence available and establish several goals for each community and all phases will be adjusting for all particular cases.
